Every sandwich panel price you are quoted is really two numbers: the one you were told, and the one on the invoice. The gap between them is conditions. On 23 September 2026 our factory price for a 50 mm PUF sandwich roof panel with 0.5 / 0.3 mm sheets was ₹ 1,269 per sqm for orders of 3,000 sqm and above, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra (factory prices on 23 Sep 2026). That sentence has five conditions in it. Here is what each one does to the number, and what a buyer should ask before comparing any two quotes. Today's figure is on the live factory price board.
Sandwich panel rate per sqm: the five conditions
| Condition | What it fixes | What happens if it is missing |
|---|---|---|
| Per sqm | The unit, measured on the panel's chargeable width | A per-sheet or per-running-metre rate cannot be compared |
| The panel | Product, thickness and sheet on each face | A 50 mm panel with 0.3 mm sheets is a different product from one with 0.5 mm |
| The slab | The order quantity the rate belongs to | A rate for 3,000 sqm quoted to a 900 sqm buyer |
| Ex-factory Kathua | Loaded at the gate; freight not included | A "delivered" rate hides a freight assumption |
| GST and freight extra | Two separate invoice lines | An all-in figure cannot be checked line by line |
| The date | The day the rate was published | A rate from March quoted in September |

A rate with all six attached can be checked. A rate missing any one of them is an opening position.
What "ex-factory" buys you
Ex-factory Kathua means loaded on the truck at our gate: the panel, cut to your lengths, packed. There are no handling charges, no location premium and no salesperson adjustment on top. Cutting to length is inside the rate, which matters, because a "per sheet" price often is not.
The two lines outside the rate
GST is extra, and appears as its own line on the invoice over the panel amount.
Freight is extra, charged per truck on actuals, never folded into the per-sqm rate. Fares from Kathua to fourteen hub cities for a 32 ft container truck are published on the board with their date; other destinations are priced per truck at booking. A full 32 ft container load of 50 mm roof panel is about 820 sqm at 32 ft panel length; shorter panels carry fewer sqm, so the loading plan fixes the truck count once lengths are known.
The reason to keep freight on its own line is simple arithmetic: a buyer in Jammu and a buyer in Mumbai should be comparing the same panel price and different truck fares, not two blended numbers.

Sandwich panel cost: a worked line
| Line | Working | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Panel | 2,400 sqm of 50 mm roof, 0.5 / 0.3 mm; 1,500 sqm slab; rate on 23 Sep 2026 ₹ 1,289 | ₹ 30,93,600 |
| GST | At the applicable rate on the panel line | separate line |
| Freight | 2,400 ÷ about 820 sqm per full load at 32 ft length = 3 trucks × the hub fare | separate line |
Three lines, three sources, each checkable. That is what "what does the price include" comes to.
Frequently asked questions
What is the sandwich panel price per sq ft?
We price and bill per sqm. The figure on 23 Sep 2026 for the 50 mm roof panel with 0.5 / 0.3 mm sheets was ₹ 1,269 per sqm — about ₹ 118 per sq ft. The conversion is for reference only; the invoice is per sqm.
Is a PUF panel the same as a sandwich panel?
A sandwich panel is any panel with a core between two skins. A PUF panel is a sandwich panel with a rigid polyurethane foam core between steel sheets, which is what the figures above price.
Does the sandwich panel rate include installation?
No. The rate is for the panel, ex-factory: cut to length, packed and loaded at the gate.
Why is the rate different for 3,000 sqm and 1,500 sqm?
Each panel is priced per volume slab, a minimum order quantity of one panel type in one order. On 23 Sep 2026 the step between slabs was ₹ 20 per sqm on every panel.
