PUF Panel Length — Cut to Order, and What That Means

PUF panel length is cut to order, not stocked: what that changes for the drawing, the order, the truck and the price, with a dated rate.

PUF panel length in our range is cut to order: every roof panel, wall panel and PUF slab is cut to the length on the buyer's drawing, and length is not part of the product's specification or its price. The rate is per sqm whatever the length. On 23 September 2026 the 50 mm roof panel with 0.5 / 0.3 mm sheets was ₹ 1,269 per sqm at the 3,000 sqm slab, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra, at any length (factory prices on 23 Sep 2026). The "Length: cut to order" line is on every panel on the live factory price board.

PUF panel length: there is no standard

A panel is made continuously on the line and cut as it comes off, so the length is whatever is set on the saw. There is no stock sheet in a "standard" length to work around. A roof panel is cut to the slope, eave to ridge plus overhang; a wall panel to the storey height; a slab to the bay.

That is why the price list has no length column. Width is fixed by the line and printed as chargeable width; length is yours; area is the product of the two.

What cut to order changes for the drawing

The drawing is the order. Lengths come from it, panel by panel or by schedule. A run of 48 roof panels at 10.4 m is one line on the schedule; a hipped end with twelve different lengths is twelve lines. Both are cut to order at the same rate per sqm.

Fewer joints along the slope. A roof panel cut to the full slope has no end lap between eave and ridge. Where the slope is longer than a truck can carry, the designer splits it and details the lap.

Made for one buyer. Once a panel is cut to your lengths it cannot be sold to anyone else; there is no shelf for it to go back to. That is the reason full payment books the production slot, and the reason the earliest production date is shown before you commit.

PUF panel maximum length: the truck sets it

The product page gives no maximum cut length. The practical limit is transport. The full-load figures on the board are stated at 32 ft panel length in a 32 ft container: about 820 sqm of 50 mm roof panel, about 1,220 sqm of 50 mm wall panel. Shorter panels carry fewer sqm, because stacking changes with length, and the loading plan fixes the count once lengths are known.

Length and the order quantity

Because area is length × chargeable width × panels, length decides which volume slab an order reaches.

PUF panel size available: the short version

Width fixed, length yours, thickness from the list, sheet per face from the list. Those four, together, are the panel; the first two give the area, the last two give the rate.

Getting the schedule right

A length schedule that lists each panel by position, length and count is the order. Three things save a call later: lengths in metres to two decimals; a note of which are roof and which are wall, since they are different panel types and different slabs; and the delivery city, because the truck count follows the lengths. Overhangs and end details are added to the slope or storey length before the schedule is sent, not after.

Frequently asked questions

What is the standard length of a PUF panel?
There is none in our range; every panel is cut to order to the buyer's drawing. Width is fixed at 1.00 m (roof) or 1.15 m (wall) chargeable.

Is there an extra charge for cutting to length?
No. Cutting to your lengths is part of the ex-factory price.

What is the maximum length of a PUF panel?
No maximum is printed on the product page. Transport sets the practical limit; the full-load figures on the board are for 32 ft panels.

Can I order different lengths in one order?
Yes. Lengths come from the drawing; the slab is reached on the total sqm of one panel type in one order.
