A PUF panel for cold storage is chosen on three lines: foam thickness, the steel sheets on each face, and chargeable width. For cold storage, our range on 23 September 2026 offered 80 mm and 100 mm wall and roof panels, the thickest on offer that day. On 23 September 2026 the 100 mm wall panel with 0.5 / 0.5 mm sheets was ₹ 1,744 per sqm and the 80 mm version ₹ 1,569 per sqm, for orders of 3,000 sqm and above, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra (factory prices on 23 Sep 2026). The full specification and today's rate are on the 100 mm wall panel specification page.
Choosing a PUF panel for cold storage: what decides it
A cold store is an insulated box. Walls and ceiling hold the temperature in; the foam core does the insulating, and the steel sheets protect the foam and form the inside and outside faces. Every extra millimetre of PUF adds resistance to heat flow, so thickness is the first decision.
The right thickness for a given chamber comes from its design: the storage temperature, the outside climate, the running hours and the refrigeration plant. That calculation belongs to the cold-store designer or refrigeration engineer. The panel's job is to match the thickness and sheet specification the design calls for.
Cold storage PUF panel thickness: 80 mm and 100 mm compared
All four panel types below have a PUF core of 40 kg/m³, Galvalume AZ70/PPGL sheets with a multi-coat system of 20 µ primer and top coat and 10 µ back coat to IS 15965 / ISO 16163, RAL9002 Off-White colour, plain lamination and lengths cut to order.
| Panel | Thickness (mm) | Sheets, top / bottom (mm TCT) | Chargeable width (m) | Full 32 ft container load (sqm, at 32 ft length) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wall panel | 80 | 0.5 / 0.5 or 0.3 / 0.3 | 1.15 | about 760 |
| Wall panel | 100 | 0.5 / 0.5 or 0.3 / 0.3 | 1.15 | about 606 |
| Roof panel | 80 | 0.5 / 0.3 or 0.3 / 0.3 | 1.00 | about 550 |
| Roof panel | 100 | 0.5 / 0.3 or 0.3 / 0.3 | 1.00 | about 450 |

The wall panel is 1,150 mm wide, so a wall run has one joint every 1.15 m. The roof panel carries a six-ridge profile with a 30 mm crest and serves as the ceiling or roof of the chamber.

Cold room PUF panel quantity: a worked estimate
A single chamber 60 m long, 30 m wide and 9 m high. Walls only are worked through; doors, openings and corner details are left to the drawing.

GST is added at the applicable rate, and freight per truck on actuals. On these figures, the step from 80 mm to 100 mm walls adds ₹ 2,84,375 to the panel value of this chamber.
The ceiling of the same chamber is 60 m × 30 m, or 1,800 sqm of roof panel. At the 1,500 sqm slab on 23 Sep 2026, that is ₹ 28,42,200 in 80 mm (0.5 / 0.3 mm, ₹ 1,579 per sqm) or ₹ 31,60,800 in 100 mm (₹ 1,756 per sqm), before GST and freight.
Buying for a cold store: the terms in one paragraph
The price is ex-factory Kathua: the panel cut to the buyer's lengths, packed and loaded at the factory gate. GST is extra; freight is charged per truck on actuals, with fares to hub cities published and other destinations priced at booking. Each slab applies to one panel type in one order, so the walls and the ceiling of a store reach their slabs separately. Panels are made to order and full payment books the production slot. The earliest production date shown for each panel is a planned start, not a delivery promise.
Frequently asked questions
Which PUF panel thickness is used for cold storage?
The thickness for a particular chamber is set by its designer from the storage temperature and the refrigeration design. As of 24 Sep 2026, the thickest panels in our range were the 80 mm and 100 mm wall and roof panels.
What is the cold storage panel price per sqm?
On 23 Sep 2026 the 100 mm wall panel with 0.5 / 0.5 mm sheets was ₹ 1,744 per sqm and the 80 mm version ₹ 1,569 per sqm, at the 3,000 sqm slab, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra. Today's rate is on each panel's page.
Can walls and ceiling be combined to reach the 3,000 sqm slab?
No. A slab applies to one panel type in one order. Wall panels and roof panels, or two thicknesses, reach their slabs separately.
What width is a cold room PUF panel?
Our wall panels have a chargeable width of 1.15 m and our roof panels 1.00 m. Area is billed on those widths.
