A PUF panel for prefab work — site offices, labour camps, portable cabins, guard rooms — is the light end of the range: a 40 or 50 mm wall panel and a 30 or 50 mm roof panel. The building goes up in days, comes down again, and must be habitable in June; the foam is what makes the last part true. On 23 September 2026 the 40 mm wall panel with 0.5 / 0.5 mm sheets was ₹ 1,197 per sqm and the 30 mm roof panel with 0.5 / 0.3 mm sheets ₹ 1,111 per sqm, at the 3,000 sqm slab, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra (factory prices on 23 Sep 2026). Specification and today's rate: 40 mm wall panel specification.
PUF panel for prefab: what a cabin asks of a panel
Light, so it can be handled without a crane. Stiff enough to be a wall on its own with a light frame. Flat and washable inside. Insulated enough that a tin box in the sun is not a tin box in the sun. And cheap enough per sqm that a camp for four hundred people is a line in the budget, not the budget. The 40 mm wall panel is the lightest we make; the 30 mm roof panel the lightest roof.

Portable cabin PUF panel: a block of cabins, worked
Twenty cabins, each 6 m × 3 m × 2.7 m high, single-slope roof of 3.2 m on the slope, in 40 mm wall and 30 mm roof.
| Element | Working | Area (sqm) | Slab, 23 Sep 2026 | Rate (₹/sqm) | Value (₹) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walls | perimeter 18 m ÷ 1.15 → 16 panels × 2.7 m × 1.15 × 20 cabins | 993.6 | 750 trial | 1,237 | 12,29,083 |
| Roofs | 6 ÷ 1.00 = 6 panels × 3.2 m × 1.00 × 20 | 384 | below 750; order 750 | 1,151 | 8,63,250 |
| Panel value | 20,92,333 |
GST at the applicable rate and freight per truck on actuals are separate lines; doors, windows and floors are the cabin builder's. The roof line shows the slab rule at work: 384 sqm of roof is below the smallest slab, so the order is 750 sqm, enough for nearly forty cabins' roofs. A camp builder ordering for two sites at once uses the whole slab.
Site office panel: the terms
Ex-factory Kathua, cut to length, packed and loaded at the gate; GST and freight per truck on actuals extra. A slab is per panel type per order, so 40 mm walls and 30 mm roofs reach their slabs separately. Made to order; full payment books the slot; the earliest production date is a planned start, not a delivery promise. Every panel ships with plain lamination and no branding, so a cabin builder sells the finished cabin under their own name.
Why the light panels suit a cabin
Two reasons beyond price. A 40 mm wall panel and a 30 mm roof panel are the lightest per sqm in the range, so a cabin's panels are lifted and set by hand and a light frame carries them. And a 32 ft container takes about 1,530 sqm of 40 mm wall panel and about 1,190 sqm of 30 mm roof panel at 32 ft length, so a camp's worth of panels travels in few trucks — though cabin panels are short, 2.7 or 3.2 m here, and stack differently, so the loading plan sets the count.
Stepping up to 50 mm
A site office that must be comfortable through a north Indian summer may be drawn in 50 mm rather than 40 mm walls. On the twenty cabins above, the walls at 50 mm and the 750 sqm trial rate of 23 Sep 2026, ₹ 1,324 per sqm, come to ₹ 13,15,526 against ₹ 12,29,083 — ₹ 86,443 more for 10 mm more foam on every wall. The roof in 50 mm rather than 30 mm, at ₹ 1,309 against ₹ 1,151 per sqm on the 750 sqm order, adds ₹ 1,18,500.
Frequently asked questions
Which PUF panel thickness for a prefab cabin?
The cabin designer sets it. The lightest in our range are the 40 mm wall panel and the 30 mm roof panel; 50 mm is the next step for either.
What is the prefab PUF panel price per sq ft?
We price and bill per sqm. The figure on 23 Sep 2026 for the 40 mm wall panel with 0.5 / 0.5 mm sheets was ₹ 1,197 per sqm — about ₹ 111 per sq ft. The conversion is for reference only; the invoice is per sqm.
Can I buy panels for a single cabin?
The smallest order is 750 sqm of one panel type, on the panels that carry a trial slab. A single cabin is far below that; a block of cabins, or a cabin builder's stock order, reaches it.
Do the panels come branded?
No. Plain lamination, no branding; label them as you sell them.
