The PUF roof panel vs wall panel question has a short answer: one is ribbed and one is flat, and everything else follows from that. Both are PUF sandwich panels with the same foam, the same sheet and the same coating. On 23 September 2026 the 50 mm roof panel with 0.5 / 0.3 mm sheets was ₹ 1,269 per sqm and the 50 mm wall panel with 0.5 / 0.5 mm sheets ₹ 1,284 per sqm, at the 3,000 sqm slab, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra (factory prices on 23 Sep 2026). Every thickness of both is on the live factory price board.

The profile. A roof has to shed water and span between purlins. The six ridges do both: they stiffen the sheet across the span and carry rain down the slope. A wall does neither, so it is flat, which also gives a clean face inside a cold room or a clean-room corridor.

The width. A wall panel is made on a 1150 mm module, so a run has one joint every 1.15 m — fewer joints, faster builds. A roof panel covers 1.00 m.

The sheets. A roof is walked on from above and seen from below, so the top sheet is the heavier one. A wall is seen and touched from both sides, so both sheets match.

The thicknesses. Roof panels start at 30 mm, the insulated roofing sheet. Wall panels start at 40 mm.

What is the same

Core: PUF 40 kg/m³. Sheet: Galvalume AZ70/PPGL. Coating: multi-coat, 20 µ primer and top coat, 10 µ back coat, IS 15965 / ISO 16163. Colour: RAL9002 Off-White. Lamination: plain, no branding. Length: cut to order. The rate basis: per sqm, ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra, pay to book.

Which one your building needs

Almost every building needs both, and the question is only which goes where. The roof panel goes on the slope; the wall panel goes on the elevation. A cold store is wall panel on four sides and roof panel over the top. A PEB shed with open sides is roof panel only. A site office is both.

Where it gets interesting is the ceiling of an insulated room under a separate roof. The pages do not say which panel to use there; that is a question for the designer, who will weigh the flat face against the span.

Two things the table shows. With the heavier sheets, roof and wall at the same thickness are within ₹ 15 per sqm of each other; the wall panel's extra 0.2 mm on the underside is about what the roof panel's profile costs. With 0.3 / 0.3 mm sheets the wall panel is cheaper, because a flat panel of the same light sheet uses less steel than a ribbed one.

One slab each

Roof and wall are separate panel types, so each reaches its own volume slab. 1,200 sqm of roof and 1,200 sqm of wall are two orders at the 750 sqm slab, not one at 1,500. The arithmetic is worth doing before the drawing is final.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between roof and wall PUF panel?
The roof panel has a six-ridge profile on its top sheet, a 1.00 m chargeable width and a heavier sheet on top than below. The wall panel is flat, 1.15 m wide, with the same sheet on both faces. Core, coating and colour are the same.

Can a wall panel be used on a roof?
Our pages do not say. The roof panel's profile is there to shed water and stiffen the span; the designer decides what goes where.

Which is cheaper, roof or wall panel?
On 23 Sep 2026 at 50 mm and the 3,000 sqm slab, the roof panel (0.5 / 0.3 mm) was ₹ 1,269 per sqm and the wall panel (0.5 / 0.5 mm) ₹ 1,284; with 0.3 / 0.3 mm sheets, ₹ 1,106 and ₹ 1,007. Ex-factory Kathua, GST and freight extra.

Do roof and wall panels count together for the minimum order?
No. Each is its own panel type with its own slab.
